Storage used by InstantBlock
The console sets an ib_sid cookie after sign-in. It identifies the account session, is HTTP-only and SameSite=Lax, and expires after 14 days. On a production HTTPS connection it is marked Secure. Signing out ends the server session.
The public site and verification pages store a light/dark theme choice under ib-theme in local storage until you change it or clear browser data. Browser checks may briefly write and remove test values in cookies and local or session storage. They may open an empty IndexedDB database called __ib_probe to test availability and then ask the browser to delete it. Browser restrictions can prevent cleanup. A gate or documentation tool can keep a token in session storage for that tab. The checks may also read browser characteristics without writing a persistent value; those reads can still fall under device-access rules.
Customers integrating InstantBlock must assess whether consent or an exception applies to these operations on their site and explain the deployment in their own notice. Read our Privacy Policy for verification data and retention.
